Notes on Glenfins Mongol Strategy

  1. Build 90 toolmakers to be able to build your buildings faster. Disband your archers, set your food consumption under management on extremely high and demolish goldmines and towers as soon as you have free workers. Build mainly Hunters, Ironmines, Toolmakers and Towncenters. Houses, Warehouses and Markets only if you don't have enough space or can't buy or sell enough.
  2. Explore 3-4 times forest for every 1 time all-land. Build hunters on the forest to get the food for exploring and use the plains for towncenters mainly always build as many of them that you can use all food for exploring. If you reach the cost of 300 food per one explorer send start building stables and use 3x horses with your explorers.
  3. Don't start to mage to early concentrade on getting land in the beginning. I usually start maging not before 300,000 score. Then mage Weapons-/Toolsproduction. When you have reached around 130 research levels at them you can start to transform all your forests to plains and build toolmakers on them you get more resources out of the same number of plains then buy autobuying and selling tools, iron, wood and food there!
  4. Don't start attacking before you have transformed your forests to plains your army will be to small to get enough land that it gives you more than exploring. Go all-forts for attacking that's your main bonus with the mongol.
  5. Make runs, wait for turns and attack or mage (look at attack and mageruns for further informations on that). If you do Mageruns mage the researchs that help your space or economy first then the other. Even if they are in a different order in the list above. Weapon-/toolsproduction increase your income during the mage, Markets and Spaceffectiveness lets you build more magetowers because you can demolish some of them after you have the research.
  6. I know people usually don't like market and spaceeffectiveness, but for the mongol they are very effective because you have many building of the type that profit from them and 10 markets means 100% more trade and 20 houses means 100% more space in houses and warehouse. The space freed by it is very usefull to increase the number of Magetowers and the seize of your army.
  7. Your complete economy can be run by toolmakers and autotrading on the market if you like you just have to be sure to always have a close look on your status when using it to adjust the local trade when needed. Always run as much weaponsmith that you can produce enough weapons to build all army your forts allow or more! Make short weaponruns to get gold and supply your alliance. Another tip: you won't need armyupkeep or armylosses until very late in the game I never needed it before I reached around 650 r/l's, you only need it if you want to run horsemenarmies, but swordsmenarmys do the job due to the sizes of your armies too...
