Notes on Rylandias Turk Strategy:
- Turks have a very powerful offensive army, but the upkeep can be very difficult. That's why this start does everything possible to help the economy while defenses are still easy to break.
- Typically the empire can use hunters and farms to make enough food to build horses. The sale of horses brings in gold to buy all other goods.
- Maging may be done one of two ways.
a) Keep all the hunters and produce horses as you mage. This is the easiest way to get reaearch and production, but at a cost of some research levels.
b) Convert all forests to plains (except what is required to feed the empire while maging) and use the entire land for maging. This will yield much higher research at the expense of production. Also, some land will be lost when converting the plains back to forests for the hunters.
- Turks could greatly use 100 Defense research, but it is far more important to break people and get land than get the defense early.
- Try to keep an all horseman army up all the time. Archers are only 1 point better defensively and waste a great number of turns converting the army. Thus, an attack run may use the entire 300 turns. Also, being an offensive army at all times, the empire may strike at targets of opportunity.
