Aid
Aid is used for sending goods to other empires. Each market allows you to send 100 goods each month. Once the goods are despatched it will take 6 of your months before they will reach their destination, and you cannot cancel the aid (needs confirmation). 5% of the goods will be taken by the merchants as a fee for their journey. You can only despatch one aid transport per 4 hours to the same person. You can aid multiple people during 1 turn, however you cannot send more aid in total than you have markets.If you do send aid to someone then this is reduced from your total markets and you will not be able to trade as many goods. For example, 1million markets, you aid 500k food to an alliance member but you want to send 1million food to the market as well. You will only be able to send 500k food to the market as you have already effectively traded 500k goods during this turn.

Alliance
Alliances are a good way to help you unite with other empires. Tournament game is the only game where you cannot form an alliance. To join an alliance, you need to select an alliance name and enter the password that the leader of the alliance set.

Alliance Creation
You can also create your own alliance and invite other people to join it. To create an alliance click on the alliance screen from the options menu. You have achoice to join an existing alliance or create a new alliance. Choose the latter.

Alliance Forum
This is used to communicate to all your alliance members. It is seen only by alliance members and therefore confidential alliance material can be posted here. It is very useful to help improve alliance teamwork, especially in the formative days of the round or for the less organised alliance.

Alliance Leader
Being a leader of the alliance, you can post alliance news, that everyone in your alliance will read.You can also put up to 5 alliances as your allies. If you do that, you and your alliance members will not be able to attack empires from those alliances. You can also put up to 5 alliances on your war list. Being an alliance leader you can also set some members to be trusted. Those empires will see how much total army other members have and be able to see details of battles other members fought through the recent battles screen.

Alliance Leader Responsibility
As an alliance leader you will be expected to co-ordinate your alliance members and make them a forceful team. You will also be able to add and remove allies and also add or remove other alliances from your War list.

Alliance Member
If you join an alliance then you are an alliance member. You will be expected to co-ordinate and communicate with your fellow alliance members. Good teamwork can vastly enhance your gaming experience and enjoyment from the game.

Alliance News
This shows recents actions for the alliance. This can be new members joining, or old members leaving. It also shows a list of alliance allies and enemies and any announcements from the alliance leader.

Allies
You can have up to 5 ally alliances at any one time. Once you are allied you cannot attack a person with either army, thieves of catapults. The alliance leader has the option of adding and removing allies at any time.

Army Attacks
This is the most common attack type. It takes 6 months for a complete army attack to go through. It costs 6 months upkeep to send out an army attack. You have few limits on who you can attack for land. However, if you attack someone below 50% of your size then your army will revolt. If you are attempting to attack someone more than twice your size in score, then you will only be able to attack if you have superior numbers of troops. This does not guarantee victory as your opponent may well have a strong tower defense.
Army Upkeep Research
For every 1% upkeep research the cost in gold and food of your army is reduced by 1%. This is limited to 50%.

This is the amount of attack points a unit has while attacking.

Attack Research
Attack research directly affects the attack points of each unit attacking. Therefore 100% attack research will mean you have twice the amount of attacking power with the same number of troops. For every 1% attack research gained, your overall army attack power will be increased by 1%.

Attack Percentage
Attack percentage will determine how effective your attacks are. If you attack the same target multiple times then your attack percentage on them will decrease. As your attack percentage lowers your army becomes less effective in the following way for conquered land:
Attack % = 100% - 100% obviously. But this, like all others, depends on the size of the defender compared to you. If the defender is your size you'll get that amount of land. If he's half your size you'll get 25% less, and if he's twice your size you'll get 50% more.

Attack % = 92% - 80% land
Attack % = 84% - 65% land
Attack % = 76% - 50% land
Attack % = 68% - 35% land
Attack % = 60% - 20% land

As you can see if you continue attacking the same target over and over again you get less land returned, therefore it is less beneficial for you to keep attacking him ... even if he has no defense!. Instead it could be a lot more beneficial if you can find another target that has got a better attack % so that you can grab more land and therefore make your empire grow quicker and more efficiently.
